Firenze

Florence is on the ley line / sword and it reminds me so much of Venice. I love it. I’m excited about seeing Michelangelo’s David and have pre booked tickets. It took 2 hours to get here so saw the lovely countryside as well. Blessed. Clare has been keeping track of our steps. We have done a lot especially on uneven ground. I wonder how many we will do today. Another day as a pedestrian seeing the best parts of Florence. Sustenance is required. I would love a Chianti but need a clear head to be map reader extraordinaire. Insulate I think is the term for salad, insulation it is. The museum luckily we find in time. Can’t wait. The paintings are extraordinary but the detail on David is beyond. You can see the veins on his hand. Apparently Michelangelo and others used to study dead bodies in secret to understand the human form! He definitely understood it. Well worth a visit.

The Duomo is grand and under renovation and the Ponte Vecchio bridge a bit disappointing but it was the only original one saved by Hitler due to a sense of history!!! He destroyed all the others.

I think it’s time for an ice cream, yum 😋
